Baking for Easter!

Easter is just around the corner, which means school holidays, chaotic households and messy chocolate faces! However you are choosing to spend your Easter break this year, there has never been a better time to keep the kids busy whilst trying out some new Easter recipes.

Here at Lawsons we’ve chose our top 3 Easter recipes for you all to try out at home:

• Chocolate Eggs. Making your own Easter eggs is our obvious first choice. Melt some chocolate over a low heat (be careful not to burn it!) and carefully pour into egg moulds. Keep cool in the fridge until they have set. Once you’ve finished, decorate with these super cute edible sugar decorations. We love this recipe because it’s quick, simple and versatile, and fun for the whole family.

• Easter cupcakes. Break the mould this season and try something a little different to your traditional egg. Easter cup cakes are a great and easy to way to get the kids involved, with minimal ingredients needed. This recipe is fun, messy and tasty. Our cupcake toppers are ideal for adding the finishing touch to your creations.

• Simnel cake is a firm family favourite, and has been around for generations. It is often compared to a light version of Christmas cake. Simnel cake is traditionally a rich fruit cake with lumps of marzipan. This recipe is a bit more advanced than the other two so we recommend this as a solo recipe! Bake the cake for approximately 2 and a half hours for best results.
