This big event coming up in August in the centre of Plymouth is definitely one not to miss. Lawsons is one of the show sponsors which is particularly appropriate because this year we celebrate our 110th year of trading in Plymouth. This long association with the city and its people and all those who know us of old, makes us proud of our roots in the South West.
This year the Plymouth Flavour Festwill take place on the weekend from 15 to the 17 August. This is the biggest food and drink festival in the South West and is really gathering in national acclaim – it is now in its eleventh year. We expect a great many visitors to come not just from our region but from all over the country to drink and taste some of the best food in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, all sourced from producers in this region. More than 120 food and drink traders will be lining the streets in the centre of the city from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 August, tempting visitors with a range of delicious produce, including fresh fish, cider, cheese, sweet things and plenty of drink.
Starting on Friday, top chefs and special guests will take part in a ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ type show which has always drawn the crowds and whetted the appetite in previous years. There are all sorts of other attractions building on to the main event, including a Food is Fun area for children, where children are taught in a fun and interactive way about how to transform ingredients into a tasty meal.
For parents and adults who want to experience a real festival feel this might well be spurred on by tasting some of the wines and beers on offer during the weekend. And Exeter Brewery, one of the sponsors, will be there serving the West Country’s best made ciders and real ale.
While the whole show is likely to fire up your enthusiasm for eating and drinking, introducing some new tastes, it might also remind of you of some of the gaps in your kitchenware that are overdue for filling. In which case, you could do no better than make an online visit to our website where we have everything you need for the home including a very broad range of great quality and affordable kitchenware. No need to wait until August to do this. Visit us now and enjoy a browse. And we hope to see you in Plymouth at the Flavour Fest!
